The Battery Atlanta
Another season of baseball is officially under way and man it was an exciting home opener for the Braves with a great three run walk-off home run to beat the Phillies 8-5. If the Braves can keep up that kind of play the whole season, the Battery will be even busier than it was last year. Last year was the first season that I bought single seat season tickets for the Braves because of all the hype that the Battery had to offer. I must say that it lived up to my expectations, so I went in with my friends again and got another year of season tickets in hopes that the Braves can bring home some big wins and put the Braves back on the map.
There was a lot skepticism about the Braves moving from Turner Field, but I think it was a great move for the Braves. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Turner Field and going to games down there, but this is a whole new level of entertainment. There is something for everyone at the Battery. The Battery offers a better variety of food and shops that you didn’t necessarily get at Turner and I think that helps bring people in. As we all know, the traffic is terrible in Atlanta and maybe getting to the Battery isn’t as easy for some to get to as others, but it offers a destination where you can stay and play all in the same weekend.
While the food and beverage prices inside the stadium are your typical stadium prices, the restaurants and bars in the battery offer a wide range of affordable options. I know I will be checking out the newly opened and highly anticipated Punch Bowl Social this season. Punch Bowl Social offers the ultimate pre/post-game experience with great food and entertainment. If you didn’t get over to the Battery for a game last year, I highly recommend getting the family together and checking it out for yourself.
